A beautiful story from a Yorkshire family photographer

As a family photographer in Yorkshire, there is no more of a beautiful story than this one! Let me introduce you to this wonderful family who I met just about three years ago now, when we were still in strange Covid times and navigating a new way of living. They were about to get married and by some twist of fate, I stepped into their lives as the photographer who would capture their special countryside wedding day. As a way to get to know each other ahead of the wedding, we met up for a family photo shoot near Bingley with their eldest daughter who was just a little dot at that time. It was so lovely to meet them and knowing they had had a few trials and tribulations to deal with and their wedding day postponement had a few stumbles along the way (like many couples had to deal with due to the Pandemic), I knew I wanted to help them feel relaxed and at ease with me and to bring about some confidence that they were going to have a great experience with me as their wedding photographer. You can find out about my approach to Yorkshire weddings here.

Well, dear reader, I can confirm that it was a truly beautiful wedding day indeed and it was such a privilege to capture it for them. Fast forward three years and what an honour to be asked by them to capture their new addition – their second beautiful baby girl. There really is no bigger compliment as a photographer to be asked to step into someone’s life again at milestone moments – so this really is a beautiful story for this Yorkshire family photographer. Knowing that they trust me to capture them in a natural and authentic way, bringing their memories to life for years to come, really is a privilege. I always say that photography is part of your legacy and for this family, having their special times preserved forever is so important to them.

I always want my family photography to be as natural as possible and working in the Yorkshire countryside is the best way to achieve that for me. We had a lovely walk around St. Ives Country Park near Bingley and both girls really enjoyed the nature and the flowers that we came across. Often on a lovely walk like this, family portraits come about without feeling like it’s a photo shoot – it’s simply time together for a family to enjoy. And for me, this is just perfect for the kind of story telling family images I love to create.

If you are considering some natural family photography here in Yorkshire, do take a look at my gallery of work here where you’ll find out more about how I work and the kinds of images I create. Because your memories really do deserve to be preserved forever – just like this family, who invest in photography and treasure it too.

Until next time,
